Content

 The catalogue for the Leiden University Library for 1716 consists of more than five hundred pages. The frontispiece shows a library interior with a pedestal for Athena in the middle. Under the pedestal are two keys: the coats of arms of Leiden and under it a medallion portrait of William of Orange. There are also two female figures and portraits of scholars, publishers and Leiden librarians such as Franciscus Raphelengius, Daniel Heinsius, Joannes Meursius, Petrus Scriverius, Gerardus Vossius, Justus Lipsius and others.
