Content

Occasional poetry is one of the most ephemeral forms of publication. They appeared in small editions, were not disseminated via the book trade and lost their significance once the wedding or the anniversary to which they referred was over. They were fairly stereotypical: a generous quarto format, modest size, roman type in a larger body than was usual and an illustration with a suitable marriage symbol on the title page.
