Content

 Portraits of Izaak and his son Johannes Enschedé. Izaak, the founding father of the printing and type founding family, established a printing shop in Haarlem in 1703. Together with his son, Johannes, he expanded his interests further and further. With the purchase in 1743 of the foundry of Hendrik Floris Wetstein they laid the basis for their own famous type foundry.
