 In the accompanying story to this picture all the things sold in a bookshop are explained in dialogue form between the young boy, Pieter, who is dying to become a bookseller and his friend Hein. What is sold besides book and prints are: 'Yes, indeed, - pens, ink, wafers, lacquer, slate pencils and slates, pencils, portfolios, sheets of paper and whatever is necessary for books and writing - and there books are sewn and bound so that they will look really nice'.
