Content

The library at N.V. Lettergieterij 'Amsterdam', voorheen N. Tetterode, started by S.H. de Roos, was designed by K.P.C. de Bazel. With its attractive space and a collection running to more than ten thousand books in the field of the graphic arts and techniques it was a source of inspiration for the employees of the firm itself and for other fellow professionals. Exhibitions were also held there. The N.V. Lettergieterij `Amsterdam', formerly N. Tetterode, employed renowned typographers and type designers, but in addition to their own type designs the factory traditionally also obtained material from foreign firms as well as from freelancers. Since 1971, the collection of the library is available in the University Library of Amsterdam (UvA).
