Content

 Binding of parchment batiked in brown and light-blue, bound by Jan Mensing after a design by Theo Nieuwenhuis, a well-known representative of `Nieuwe Kunst ( Dutch Art Nouveau). Both covers have a line panel in gold, which have brown patterns of leaves and blue flowers batiked inside. Besides gold-tooling, batiking on parchment was much sought after in the first decades of the 20th century for special items.
