Content

 The 'Artis Bibliotheek' or 'Plantage Bibliotheek', originally the library of the 'Koninklijk Zoölogisch Genootschap 'Natura Artis Magistra' (Royal Zoological Society 'Natura Artis Magistra' ) founded in 1838. The building dates from 1868 with extensions of 1869 and 1870. In 1939 the library became the property of the University of Amsterdam. In 1972 the building and its interior became a listed building.
