Content

This is the first type specimen of Broese and Comp., founded in Breda in 1837 and one of the type foundries operating in the Netherlands during the first decades of the 19th century. A large number of types in this type specimen is derived from matrices, taken over from the type foundry of C.J. Hartung in Antwerp, who in turn had bought them from a French firm.
