 This 'Historia Alexandri Magni' (on the history of the conquests of Alexander the Great) in Latin is an example of an incunabulum in which the hand-written book served as an example. The historiated initial S depicting Alexander riding on his horse into the wood through an opening in the letter has been applied by hand.
