Content

Following the trend abroad, more and more illustrated periodicals appeared during the 19th century in the Netherlands. Their rise was closely associated with the use of new illustrative techniques such as woodcuts. This "Geïllustreerde Courant", published by K. Führi in The Hague, appeared weekly but was not to last long: it ceased to exist in December of 1844.
