On 2 July 1913 the first number appeared of Panorama, a weekly magazine printed in intaglio printing. It was a family magazine which was very successful for Sijthoff and by which copper engraving or rotogravure was introduced in the Netherlands. With this procedure it was possible to print high quality editions in large numbers at great speed. Sijthoff set up a separate company to print Panorama: the Nederlandsche Rotogravure Maatschappij.
