Content

Through the use of copper engraving or rotogravure it was possible to produce large editions with high-quality illustrations and also to capitalize on current events. Sijthoff introduced this technology into the Netherlands using the Panorama family magazine. On 14 January 1916 the Zuiderzee dijk gave way and there was heavy flooding throughout the country. Panorama reported extensively on this terrible catastrophe a few days later in a special edition.
