 In 1773 the Utrecht printers' and booksellers' guild had existed for a hundred years. This was celebrated on 2 August 1763 and 'was proposed in verse in grateful memory'. The festival song in which Joan Stouw boasted of the fame and excellence of the Utrecht printers' and booksellers' guild is 10 pages long.
