Content

 In this encyclopaedic work "Algemeen Kunstwoordenboek der Wetenschappen" (General Art dictionary of the Sciences) the entry `Printing' has a description of composing and printing. Craftsmen had to be satisfied with this, for a real manual did not exist. The description was reprinted, with or without adaptations, several times till into the 19th century.
